WIR TESTEN JETZT AUCH AUF DEUTSCH!
My name is Jessica Ulrich and I am an Educational Psychologist situated in Windhoek, Namibia. Since I started studying psychology, I have always aspired to work with teenagers and young adults. This passion for the youth lead me on the path of furthering my studies to become a qualified Life Skills teacher and ultimately, an Educational Psychologist. I have been working in the field of Psychology since 2010 and in the education sector since 2015.
Upon completion of a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Namibia (UNAM), I proceeded to commence an internship to register as a psychological counsellor. Once I started teaching as a Life Skills teacher, I accomplished my Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Education, a two-year course at UNAM in just one year. Following that, I registered for a Master's degree in Education (Guidance and Counselling), which rendered me eligible for an internship for Educational Psychology, which I completed under the supervision and Mentorship of Educational Psychologist, Tanya Beyer.
My enthusiasm for academics becomes evident in my pursuit of a PhD degree through the University of South Africa. The focal point of my thesis is the reform of the practical aspects of teacher education in Namibia, in the hopes of enhancing the overall quality of education nationwide.
Personally, I am an animal and nature lover. I enjoy gardening and rescuing injured animals to be released back into their natural habitat. Professionally, I do the same: I coach and guide young people to become the best version of themselves, regardless of the hardships they have to overcome. I believe through assessment and intervention that most individuals can find a path that allows them to harness their strengths and manage their weaknesses.
Best regards,
Jessica Ulrich.
